YAC’s Float At Pride!

Monterey was filled on June 27th with celebration, inclusivity, and joyfulness. We’re so proud we got to be apart of our city’s amazing pride parade! 🌈

You Will Rise Project has been working so hard this last week, to help build a float inspired by artwork from our YACsters and artists at Art Abilities. We couldn’t have done it without you Paul, Scout, and the rest of the team without your leadership and encouragement!

SPECIAL SHOUTOUT!! Our YACster Zoey McNeil also earned a scholarship through Monterey Pride for her student leadership. He’s VP of MHS’ Queer & Allies Club and will be spending her senior year as VP of MHS’ Arts, Media & Performance (AMP) Academy. Zoey’s artwork centers queer joy while exploring and celebrating the intersectionality of identities. This results in a whole body of work that challenges one dimensional narratives while remaining warm and inviting. Congratulations Zoey, you earned this!
